Meet Lara

Hi, I’m Lara, a foodie at heart and dietitian by trade. I created Give a Girl a Spoon to share all of my ice cream recipes. Eventually, I’ll add more recipes, but for now, it’s all about the desserts.

I’m a sweet over savory kinda girl, and making healthier versions of my favorite ice creams have helped me drop the last 15#, with minimal exercise, might I add. A big thing that helped was increasing my protein intake, and an easy way to do that was making protein ice cream recipes.

If you look at packaged ice creams, they’re filled with gums and preservatives and artificial flavors and colors. Most of my recipes are free of the above, but sometimes there are exceptions if I’m using mix-ins that might contain that or if I was unable to find a coconut milk or almond milk without an emulsifier. Recipes that don’t have any gums or pudding mixes you’ll find in my healthy category.

Any who, I hope you love all of these mostly healthy recipes. If you want, subscribe to my newsletter and I’ll email you when a new recipe is up, or you can join my facebook group where I share them as well.
