Ninja Creami Dole Whip

I gotta be honest. Living in Florida almost all of my life and always within a few hours of Disney, I went a lot—so much so that I got burnt out. At one point, it felt like we were going every other weekend because we were annual pass holders.

But one thing I did every single trip was get a Dole whip. It was the perfect way to relax and cool down because almost 99% of the time, you were sweating your butt off. Believe it or not, shade and a seat can be hard to come by at Disney.

So skip the drive, the lines, and the crazy expensive tickets to get into the theme park and make this copycat Dole Whip in your Ninja Creami in the comfort of your home!

This Dole whip has just 3 ingredients and is gluten-free. You can even make it dairy-free by using coconut milk or almond milk instead of cow or goat milk.

Tools Needed 

  • Ninja Creami ice cream maker – I use the original Ninja Creami for this recipe, not the deluxe or breeze. 
  • Ninja Creami Pints – I opted for these pints because they were about half the price as the ones being sold by Ninja Creami, but be weary if you need them quickly; it took about three weeks to get here.

Ingredients

There are no fancy ingredients needed to make this Ninja Creami Dole Whip. You only need 3 ingredients and should be able to find them in your local supermarket.

What you’ll need to make this dole whip recipe:

  • 14 ounces crushed pineapple in pineapple juice (you can use canned pineapple chunks if you can’t find crushed ones)
  • 1/4 cup milk of choice (Fairlife, coconut milk or almond milk)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (you can use vanilla bean paste, too if you wanna be fancy)

NOTES – this recipe doesn’t use any added sweeteners because personally, I didn’t want to add any, but if you like your ice cream or sorbet on the sweeter side, feel free to add some maple syrup or monk fruit or allulose blend to increase the sweetness.

How to make Dole Whip in a Ninja Creami

  1. Add the crushed pineapple, milk and vanilla extract to a pint container.
  2. Mix well and secure the lid on tightly.
  3. Freeze for 24 hours.
  4. After 24 hours, remove the pint from the freezer, remove the lid, and add it to the Ninja Creami pint holder.
  5. Lock the pint holder into the Ninja Creami and run on the “lite ice cream” function
  6. You will need to use the “respin” function 1-2 times for the best texture.
  7. Remove from the pint holder and enjoy.

Dole Whip Nutrition

A traditional dole whip has 110 calories per 2/3 cup serving. It’s vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free, but have you considered the ingredients?

Dole Whip ingredients: Sugar, Dextrose, Stabilizers (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Locust Bean Gum, Guar Gum, Karaya Gum, Pectin, Cellulose Gum, Xanthan Gum), Coconut Oil, Contains 2% Or Less Of Each Of The Following: Maltodextrin, Citric Acid, Natural & Artificial Flavor, Modified Food Starch, Malic Acid, Beta Carotene (Color), Mono & Diglycerides, Silicon Dioxide (Anticaking).

Obviously, my recipe doesn’t taste or look exactly like a REAL Dole Whip because it’s only 3 ingredients and doesn’t contain any added sugar, gums, or emulsifiers. But for being what it is, it’s better darn delicious.

For the entire pint of this recipe there is 253 calories, 6.5g of protein, 60g of carbs, 3.3g fiber and 0.6g of fat.

So this isn’t a low-carb recipe by any means, but it is low-fat. It might be good for a pre-workout or pre-run snack since it has limited fiber and fat.
