I absolutely loved this Ninja Creami Keto Coconut Protein Ice recipe. So many people reached out and asked if you could swap oat milk for the Rebel milk, and I wasn’t really sure, so I had to test it out.

The answer is yes, yes you can.

This recipe comes out so much creamier than this coffee protein ice cream that was made with oat milk. It might be because it doesn’t have the espresso, or because of the different protein powder that was used.

The best part is, you only need 2 ingredients to make this coconut protein ice cream with oat milk.

You can pretty much add a scoop of unflavored protein powder to any recipe, as long as it’s a high quality protein powder. I’ve noticed the isolates tend to work better, but I haven’t tried every brand on the market yet. Depending on the fat content or lack of emulsifiers, you may have to give it a re-spin or two for the best texture.

Tips & Tricks

Be sure to prepare in advance. This recipe takes 18-24 hours to freeze. I like to plan ahead and make it before the weekend. This is when I always want an extra sweet treat.

Tools to make this easy recipe

  • Ninja Blender – I love my ninja blender. Not only can you use it for the obvious, like smoothies and shakes, but it also works perfectly for making the ice cream base!
  • Ninja Creami ice cream maker – I am in love with this Ninja Creami.
  • Ninja Creami Pints – I opted for these pints because they were about half the price, but be weary if you need them quickly; it took about three weeks to get here. They did have some prime options for other pint containers, but I was being thrifty.

How to store

When freezing the ice cream pint, make sure the lid is on secured and it’s placed in the freezer on a flat surface.

What to do if you don’t eat the entire pint

If you don’t eat all of the ice cream in one sitting, make sure to flatten the top of the ice cream, replace the lid and store in the freezer. When you’re ready to eat it again you will need to run it on the lite ice cream function, and respin twice.

  1. This is a bit misleading. The description says this is for people who can’t have milk but the Clean Simple Eats Protein Powder – Simply Vanilla contains whey and non-fat milk powder. I’ll try this but with my dairy free protein powder Vega Protein Made Simple 😀.
